What To Buy. Canon 550, Nikon D3100, Bose SoundDock Portable or Bose SoundDock?
Me and my dad want to buy something, as its just gone christmas, but we weren't quite sure what to get. We're hoping to buy it before the VAT goes up on the 4th of January and we were just wanting to get advice and your opinions on what to buy out of these 4 products.
Nikon D3100 with free tripod - £429 http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/78032/show.html
Canon 550D - £649 (Bit pricey) http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/77142/show.html
Bose SoundDock Portable - £349 http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/digital-music-solutions/sounddock-systems-for-iphone-and-ipod/sounddock-portable-digital-music-system/
Bose SoundDock - £249 http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-and-personal-audio/digital-music-solutions/sounddock-systems-for-iphone-and-ipod/sounddock-digital-music-system/
Any advice, alternatives etc welcome.
Thanks.
Added (1). Well, we love doing both photography and listening to music, and if we were to go with one of the cameras, it would be our first dslr. Could you point out why to choose the canon over the nikon? And if there were any other places to get it cheaper?
What you have listed are two very disparate categories.
What do you like to do, photograph things or to listen to music?
For the dSLR's:
The Nikon D3100 is one of Nikon's low-end dSLR's. The tripod bundled with it should not be a deal breaker.
The Canon 550D is Canon's Pro-sumer dSLR, next to the 60D and 7D. It take full HD video, and Canon is a very reputable name. If I had the money, this would be my choice.
For the Docks:
Ignore Bose. You can get a Bowers and Wilkins Mini-Zeppelin for £300, and it's big brother the Zeppelin for £400. Bowers and Wilkins is used in Abbey Road Studios.
