Nikon D3000 Compatible Flash?

I have a Nikon D3000 and I want to buy a flash to use at night. The problem is I don't want to illuminate the whole pictue, just a spot (like the center). I know when I use the built-in flash it will illuminate everything even if I'm outside and standing 10 ft away from my subject. Can someone please recommend a flash that would work with my camera for how I want to use it?

Any flash is ok… But you need a "snoot" to puo on it ; )

Any nikon flash would do nicely but yes, you would need a snout.
