Artist adding lenses for Nikon D90?
I'm a combination artist/painter, architect and photographer. I'm looking to expand my lens kit. I shoot mostly street, landscape, indoor low light situations, almost all natural light, a few candid portraits. I'm primarily interested in fine art photography, black and white especially.
I currently have a D90 w/ 35mm/f1.8, a Tamron 17-50/ f2.8, that's it.
I would like a slightly wider lens for street shots. I'm drawn to prime lenses because of low light ability. I would like a little more reach than I have for the occasional distant image, say the moon rising, or a sport event.
So I'm thinking of adding the 50mm/1.8, and also the18-105vr or 55-200vr. Then later on the wide end, the Tokina 11-16, or Sigma 10-20 or Nikon 12-24.
I have some trouble with the 17-50, I get error messages saying its not getting good connection, so 1 out of 10 shots I get an error message, I have to twist the lens to get the connection back for autofocus. I can manual focus all day, its just autofocus giving issues…
So lens kit if I sell 17-50 would look like:
Sigma 10-20, 35/1.8, 50/1.8, 18-105, or 55-200…
Any suggestions? Should I keep the 17-50 and try to figure out why its not shooting?
18-105, or 55-200?
Thanks. I'm leedeparis on flickr if you want to see my typical work.

Nikon D7000 no photo displayed on back screen?
I just upgraded to the Nikon D7000 when I take a photo it does not pop up on the back screen like on my old camera… Probably me and something simple I'm overlooking. I have to go the arrow left side of the delete key) and push for it to display.
Added (1). Thanks. Yep it was something simple!

Can you get fx lens on a dx body?
So i was reading up and i was going to get my nikon 24-70 2.8 for my d5000 and upgrade the body later because i was told by some people that you could use a fx lens on dx body. But when i went to a local camera shop the owner said that it would not work and that you have to have a fx body for fx lens. Anyone help with this?

18-55 mm lens for nikon d3100, is that enough for an amateur photographer?
I'm new into DSLR photography, and I wanted to know is the lens 18-55 that comes with Nikon enough for me!
Or should I be condsidering buying a 18-105mm.

I told my friend that I want to purchase a dslr.
I'm a newbie. And I was blown away by his answers.
I told him that basically I wanted the feature to be able to focus on 1 item with blur background.
I asked him about nikon d5000.
he told me that
1st the lens isn't that good - 18-55mm, he has Nikon D90 which have 18-105mm?
2nd he said something about it's lense - f/3.5
what difference does it make?

Why doesn't my Nikon D70 playback my pictures in fullscreen?
Any time i take a picture on my camera it shows an image about 1/4 the size of what it should be (basically takes up a corner of the picture) it doesn't cut anything out just shows a smaller picture. Then when i click the "play" button and scroll threw and click on the picture it just shows a complete zoomed in version and the only way i can see anything is by moving around the multi-selector. I also just ran an update on the firm ware to 2.0 but it didn't change much.
