Fish eye lens for nikon d7000?
Any suggestions on quality fish eye lens for my nikon d7000?

I'm looking to upgrade my Nikon D40 to a better quality Nikon DSLR body?
Which (in your opinion) is the best choice for me as far as Nikon's DSLRs for less that $800 (body only)? I'm going to be a senior in high school next year and will be studying photojournalism in college. I love my D40, but I'm looking for an upgrade that has more mega pixels and features. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Is it a bad time to purchase a Canon Rebel XS?
I've been shopping around for an entry level SLR camera and I've decided on the Canon Rebel XS. I also thought about the Nikon D3000 but the deciding factor for me was the canon's ability to shoot video.
My question is this: Is it a bad time to purchase the Canon Rebel XS because it has been out since 2008? My thinking is that a new model is sure to be released soon and the Rebel's price will drop dramatically. That would suck to buy it for $500 and find it for $300 a month later…
Does anyone know if canon is due to release a new model?

What to expect when I get my Nikon D3100?
I may get a new Nikon D3100. I'm new at photography. I'm worried that when I get it I will have to buy lenses before I can take pictures. Will I have to buy other things too? And would you recommend the Nikon D3100 for beginners? And I've heard that the battery drains quickly. Please give me some facts, and also answer these!

Opportunity to 'upgrade' to Nikon D5100.should I?
I currently own the Nikon D5000 with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. I have the opportunity to sell my D5000 kit and go to a new D5100 with the 18-55mm and the 70-300mm lenses and it would cost me about $200 to do so.
Would you jump on this and, if so, why?
Added (1). Dear "Dr."… No, I certainly do not NEED to do this. However, since I shoot a fair amount of outdoor sports, I liked the better 70-300mm lens and the improved full-time AF on LiveView. Add the purported slightly better imaging, the side-articulating LCD (instead of the frustrating bottom hinged one) and slightly better ISO range… I thought trading a used d5000 for this new d5100 + $200 seemed pretty reasonable.
Added (2). I really appreciate all the input! Just to put perspective on this… It's not a true trade… I'm selling my immaculately cared for d5000 to someone who really wants it and I would be buying the d5100 from a fellow church member (I work for the church) who won it at some big event and is trying to give me a really good deal on it. He knows he could get more for it but he settled on the price that would end up costing me about $200 over what I make on the d5000. I could add another $100 but that would be my limit.

How to go about selling my camera?
I have a Nikon touchscreen red standard point-and-shoot camera (the one from the Ashton Kutcher Nikon commercial). It has terrible image quality and I hate it. I'm going on vacation to California in 2 weeks and I want to be able to take good pictures. I want to sell my camera and upgrade to a Nikon D3000. How should I sell my camera? I want to get the money for it as quick as possible (within 2 weeks). The camera costed about $400 and the Nikon D3000 costs $400.

I'm new at photography and I'm thinking about making Photography my future career! I'm not very old so I thought if I started photography now, I would be a good photographer.
I'm thinking about getting the Nikon D3100 because it's not over $1000 and it has AF servo. I love taking pictures outside and of weather. Please help! There are too many choices of cameras for me to decide!

Good quality and focusing cameras?
I want a really nice quality camera like this;
http://www.bestbuy.com/...Id=2553883
but those are very expensive.
are there any good quality, great focusing nikon or canon [or any other good brand] cameras under $400?
again, i'm looking for something that has very good quality and focus.
[i don't want one off of ebay or dealdash or anything like that.]

Buying a Digital SLR Camera? - 1
I'm looking to buy a Digital SLR Camera. I've been looking at a few different types but as I'm from NZ my range is rather limited, however I've narrowed it down to a couple. I know a little about Cameras, but not really all that much, I've done quite a lot of research but I'm hoping for some second opinions. Can anyone tell me how good each camera is, what one would be better for basic photography, as in nothing to fancy, but pretty good for starting out?
The first is pretty much one of the cheapest options:
Sony Alpha Mount DSLR Twin Lens Kit, Model: DSLRA290Y.
The Second costs a little more, but was the one that I thought would be the best for me: Nikon D3100 Twin Lens Kit, Model: NIKON D3100

Is the a way to check the number of actuation on a Nikon D3000?
Some one is selling Nikon D3000 so I want to check this out first, I read somewhere that actuation of the shutter goes only 100, 000 times.
