What to expect when I get my Nikon D3100?
I may get a new Nikon D3100. I'm new at photography. I'm worried that when I get it I will have to buy lenses before I can take pictures. Will I have to buy other things too? And would you recommend the Nikon D3100 for beginners? And I've heard that the battery drains quickly. Please give me some facts, and also answer these!
1. If you buy the D3100 kit, it comes with an 18-55mm lens
2. You will have to get a memory card, bag, and at least a microfiber cloth for the lens. Also, highly suggested is a UV filter for your lens- it does nothing more than to protect the front element. Call it a small sheild. Get Hoya or B&W brand
3. The D3100 is an excellent camera for beginners
4. If you use video, your battery will drain faster, for obvious reasons. If you use live view all the time, you will have 1/3rd or so of the normal battery life. (thats why you use the viewfinder
