Is the a way to check the number of actuation on a Nikon D3000?
Some one is selling Nikon D3000 so I want to check this out first, I read somewhere that actuation of the shutter goes only 100, 000 times.
No that's not true. What is true is that camera is engineered to shoot 100, 000 times. Many pros have their cameras at 500, 000 and over with out problem.
Checking the shutter count - I'd talk with some pro shops in your area about that. They may be able to help.
Use this program to list the recorded EXIF data
OPanda

Look for this entry:
Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera = 15072
I have an old Nikon D100 with over 220, 000 shutter cycles and is still working fine
A colleague of mine has over one million shutter cycles on his Nikon D3 and it is still working just fine
The EXIF data of a current image will have the shutter actuation count recorded, most EXIF viewers like the above mention Opanda will read that info. The 100, 000 cycle is a bit of a myth, most cameras of this generation do much better but it's an engineering average, not a guarantee. Just like light bulbs having an average life some go shorter some go longer, some go much longer.
100, 000 still photos, I'd be worn out before the camera!
