What's a great photography camera to buy?

Well I had a nikon D3000 i sold around a year ago.
I would love to get back in to photography and my girlfriend is getting annoyed with my stealing her Pentax.
So I want to buy me another now i'm not sure what is a great camera to buy?
I don't want any of the D3xxx or 5xxx
So what is a great nikon camera i should invest in too, or Should i go with a pentax? If so which one?

Added (1). I heard people say get a D60 or D80.
Would i be better off getting a D5000 or one of the D60 or D80s?

How to use Nikon D3100 for beginners?

It was my birthday yesterday (turned 13) and mum gave me a Nikon d3100 photography camera!
I've got no IDEA how to use the thing - but its awesome! I've read the instructions but I've got no freakin clue what they mean (my parents don't either) is there any proper youtube videos on how to use them - for dummies!) please help thanks

Nikon D5000 DSLR autofocus not working?

The auto focus on my camera has recently not been working. I don't recall dropping it or hitting it against something and if it happened it was just a slight hit and a while back. The camera does not focus not matter what mode its on, but it still takes pictures they just come out blurry. Is there any button I could have changed to by accident or pressed? Please help me I'm so upset, I hope it doesn't need repairs because I can't afford a repair.

How to shoot sunrise photography?

I can shoot HDR sunrise but I don't want HDR on these shots I'm about to take. I have a nikon d3100 and will be shooting landscape/ lake type area. I want the water soft exposed and have the trees still be lit up a bit and have the sunrise and clouds in perfect color without being blown out! Please anything helps! I need the settings and more.
