I just bought a Nikon D3100 and?
I just bought a Nikon D3100 and in the box came these two little thing… You can bend them inside of its like a metallic grey color and outside there's like a black cover. Does anyone no what they are- I have 1 small and 1 big of them.
Best settings for Nikon D3000 for shots of fire at night?
I've got a Nikon D3000 and a 18-55mm lens that I'd like to use to take pictures of a fire parade at nighttime. However, I'm very new to digital cameras and their settings so it would be really helpful if someone could steer me in the right direction of what the best settings would be. It does have a guide mode but I don't want to end up with a bunch of blurry photos of orange and yellow like last time, as there will be people walking around with torches and fireworks going off at the parade, and I'd like to capture it as best as I can.

Memory card issues with my Nikon D3100
I have a Nikon D3000, but I just bought a Nikon D3100. My memory card is a PNY Professional 16 GB. I have about 1, 800 photos on there. When I put my memory card in the Nikon D3100 my photos are gone, and when I put it in the Nikon D3000 its all there. How can I make it so that I can have the photos on my Nikon D3100?

How to get that 'soft light' portrait look when taking pictures?
I'm taking senior pictures for a friend of mine tomorrow. I have some basic photography knowledge and experience. It's going to be mostly/all cloudy tomorrow. We're going out at about 8 (sunrise is at 7:50) and we're taking in a few various locations. We should be done around noon or so.
I'm taking them with a Nikon D90, most likely the kit lens (18-105mm, f/3.5-5.6G ED VR), and may or may not have access to a speedlight. The photos will be taken outside.
