Why buy me the camera I don't want?

Ok so I ask for my birthday for a canon 60d which my parents can afford to get me, but all of sudden they start talking about getting a nikon d5100 and i'm like no i asked specifically for the canon which they said yes to originally. Why do my parents do this its so frustrating?
