my brother drives cars and does triathlons, and i'm the camera guy. He wants me to be able to take photos like the one above. I'm new to dslr photography and have had my camera (nikon d5100) for only a few months. I still only have the 18-55mm lens, but i'm soon going to get a 80-200mm lens second hand off a friend. I would like to know the shooting mode, shutter speed, ect. Some techniques/ tips on how to do it and also, do i need a tripod?

I'm not sure if I fractured my collarbone or not?
A few days ago I went to an event where I was carrying a heavy crossbody bag with a book, dslr camera(nikon d40), my wallet, and a makeup bag with a few things in it. And the next day my shoulder started to hurt. There's a slight bump on my right collar bone and it is slightly swollen. I know it isn't broken because i can still move around easily but when i do move around and lift my arm up it hurts. Nothing is popping out so i don't think its broken. Could it possibly be a fracture? I'm going to see a doctor next week about it because i have no time this week right now. Also what are some signs of fractured collar bones? And ways doctors help it to heal?
So i'm about to buy a nice underwater housing for my nikon d7000, and these are the two lens i'm looking at Tokina AT-X AF 10-17mm f3.5-4.5 DX vs Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX. Which one is a better investment and purchase? They are only 40 dollars difference right now and they are both great…

I just got my new nikon d7000 and when i shoot in manual the shutter speed is not as fast/regular like when shotting in auto or u1 or u2/ for example in an indoor shot my shutter speed is at 80, iso at 100 and at 2.8 is like if shoot at shutter speed of 1/15 i hear the aperture when it opens so slow,
how can i fix this problem? Or it is a factory problem? Even when i change the settings for faster shutter speed like 250 still is the same

I just bought a Nikon D3100 and am taking the kiddos to the circus tomorrow. I could shoot on manual but want to experiment. What settings are good for the event… Indoor stadium (basketball/hockey stadium), low light, 18 rows up from action and lots of movement. I only have a 18-55mm lens, it came with the camera.
