Will the 50mm 1.8D fit the Nikon D3100?
So i just got my Nikon D3100 a month ago, I'm loving it and i learned most of what's essential. Now the kit lens is good but it's not durable, the build quality is totally not good and the glass is definitely not that great, So i was thinking about investing in a better lens, and the 50mm 1.8D seemed like a better choice, it's cheap and it's build quality is great, not mentioning the ability to step down to an aperture of 1.8, which gives a more shallow DoF, which is exactly what i need! So, before i would buy the lens, i watched some videos on Youtube and some guy in one of the videos said that Nikon produced a 1.8G version because the 1.8D could NOT be mounted to the Nikon D3100, is it true?
Can i mount the 1.8D on the Nikon D3100?

I currently have a Nikon D5100, and an SB-700 flash to go along with it. I was wondering if there was a way to get a faster shutter speed than 1/200 while using the extension flash? It appears it is seriously limiting my use to a slower shutter speed for such an amazing flash! This is one thing I wish I considered in my purchase of the camera. Hopefully there's a way to fix it, and that is my question, does anyone know how to change the max flash sync?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

How much should I sell my used Nikon D40 for?
I have had it for two years now - the body itself is in perfect condition, no visible marks or scuffs. The 18-55mm nikkor lens that it came with does have a couple noticeable scratches/scuffs (which may come off if cleaned professionally) on the surface but they do not show up when pictures are taken - also on the lens, the sticker that lines the inner part of the lens which displays the measurement of the lens itself is no longer there, and there's residue from the sticker but it does not affect shooting. At times when shooting photos, the lens makes a clicking sound as if it has become unattached and the picture through the viewfinder appears to be unfocused - quickly detaching and reattaching the lens is needed to continue to take photos.
An estimate of a decent price is $300 for both the lens and body - is this reasonable? I also have the original box, charger, and "quick start" manuel.

How to achieve perfect exposure when taking a photo on a DSLR?
I've recently purchased the Nikon D5000 DSLR with a 18-135mm lens. I absolutely love it but keep coming across the same problem.
When taking photos I can never seem to achieve perfect exposure and the photo is always to dark. For example, if I wanted to take a picture of someone running, I understand that I would need to set a fast shutter speed and a wide aperture, however when zoomed in, the best aperture I can get is f/5.6. Not enough to get good exposure.
I'm new to photography and would really appreciate any help to get me started.
Thanks
Added (1). I'm shooting in Manual mode and I do pay attention to the light meter which forces me to lower the shutter speed. I've adjusted ISO constantly to see its effect, however there seems to be absolutely no difference between an ISO of 200 compared to 3200…

Why does Final Cut Express make videos low quality?
I have been editing videos off my home video camera for a while on FCE and it has appeared very low quality. Originally I put this down to my camera's quality, but I have now got a Nikon D5100 (true HD) and I still have the same issue, also the video generators are coming out the same. Any suggestions on how I can make it good quality?

How many best buy reward points does it take to get a camera?
I'm buying a Nikon D3000 camera. I have about $300 saved and some best buy reward points. Not sure how many. I was just wondering how many points it takes to get a camera at all so I have an estimate please? Thank you. And if you have an ahole response please don't answer.

I'm dying for a new camera. Can't decide?
Right now I have a panasonic lumix dmc-lz8 for about… I dunno 3-4 years. It's just a point and shoot and i can take pretty good pix with it but I'm dying for something to take more involved pictures. I want photography to be a bigger part of my letting out my creativity.
One of those cameras that people are like "okay, she took a good picture with the right type of camera. 'the big fancy photographer's camera'" NOT "she took that with that tiny thing? She got lucky." I want two cameras: my lumix to keep in my bag and take pictures with at the spur of the moment. AND a camera like the Nikon D3000.
My friend has one. God, when i used it, i fell in love. I dunno, i think that i just like that i can feel the lense snapping and taking the picture, you know?
And it's quick. Just flash *snap*. When i sue my dad's old sony, I die a little bit inside. It's this whole LONG *** process of flash flash flash WAIT picture processing… SNAP. Wait… You may now take more pictures. >:\
I might just buy the Nikon used cuz it's cheap. But i want a new one.so, should i buy an older camera that i like, or a new one like it and if so, which one?
Added (1). Professional looking pics isn't exactly the thing. It's the limitations to my point and shoot that's frustrating me. That is all.
Added (2). Gahhh! I didn't MEAN to buy a panasonic. The first was a freaking kodak (SUCKED. Was a gift from my dad for my 11th birthday.mom dropped it in puddle of water (good riddance) and my stepdad got me a panasonic to replace it because it was of equal value (approximately $100) and the quality, even tho it was a panasonic was much better. JEEZUS.

I'm skiing in the Poconos and I want to take my DSLR with me to get some good shot. The problem is i'm a beginner skiier and i'm scared i'm gonna fall and break my camera. I have a Nikon D5100

Has anyone tried Quibids.com.are things really that cheap if you're lucky?
I was reading blogs about it but it seems too good to be true that a nikon d90 can be bid for $90.

Can't play Nikon d5100 video file using vlc player, gom player or quick time player?
Quick time plays it very badly, i converted the file into another format using youtube downloader, but the quality turned to be a lot lower than the original file?
now is there any way to change the file format using the camera itself? Or maybe a software that plays the video on my PC properly?
