I'm confused about the video reviews i watched recently and they haven't shown any videos from it. Can it take a video? Or if can't, can a D3100 can?
What is the difference between these two Nikon lenses?
I've posted this question before, but I really want more opinions.
I have a Nikon D3100 and I really want to know the difference between these two:
Nikkor AF-S, 50 mm F/1.8G
AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 G
Well, other than the f-number, but is there a huge difference between f/1.4 and f/1.8?
There's obviously a huge price difference.f/1.4 is more expensive.
What do you think, or do you have a better lens suggestion?
D5100 issue, is it me or the camera?
Ok so I have a Nikon d5100 that I'm just learning to use. Sometimes when I'm shooting in manual mode it just stops working. Like when I press the shutter button nothing happens, no auto-focus or anything. Usually when it happens I have been shooting away for a while with no real problems. So could it be that the camera has gotten too hot? Or maybe it just doesn't like the settings that I've chosen (although you would think that it would still take the photo and it would be under/overexposed or whatever) Or do I have a actual problem? The camera is still on warranty but I don't really want to take it back until I know for sure its not just something I'm doing wrong
On the Nikon D7000, how do you properly lock the camera's white balance and metering?
I see a button for it, but it doesn't seem to be very self explanatory.

Nikon d3100 file names repeating?
I have the nikon d3100 and i don't know if it has to do with the camera or the memory stick… But when i insert the memory card into the computer to upload pics… There are 2 folders. I guess it fits a certain # per folder.anyway my question is that in like folder #2… The image name repeats… Like it'll start from 1 again… Like dsc… 001. But there's already a file with that name in folder #1.so it looks like its the same but its not. I know its confusing how i'm explaining but hopefully somoeone uderstands and can help. Like when i'm downloading to the computer the computer sees it as a repeat even though the pics are different! Get it? I don't accidenly want to over-write the image. But how do i get it to not use the same file name?

*I own a Nikon D3100. I have a 18-55 mm lens, a 55-200mm lens, a tripod, and indoor and outdoor lens filters.*
I have two questions.
1) When is flash appropriate?
When will flash make my photos look better, and when will they not. I especially need to know if flash is appropriate on humans for portraits.
2) Should I invest in a better flash with a Flash defuser to soften the light?

Attaching 50mm 1.8 lens to nikon d5000?
I attached my new nikkor lens to my nikon d5000, it clicked in place and everything, but when I turn my camera on it says "lens not attatched" what is wrong and what can I do?
