How do Lens Reversal Rings work?

I'm planning on getting a Nikon D3100 and want to do some macro photography but my budget severely limits me.
so i started looking into reversing my lens. But i don't know.well.pretty much anything about this. I looked around and read that you can't use auto function as the lens connectors aren't connected.understandable.
but you can't use manual focus also. Is that true?
and would i be damaging my lens doing it? Also ill be having an 18-55mm lens what ring would i need? A 52mm?

Recommendations for cameras?

I'm just getting into photography and would like to know what camera would be the best for me to use.

I use the manual focus setting regularly, and know how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO fit in and plan to learn how to use it more often. I was wondering what bridge or point-and-shoot camera would be the best for me, or if I should just invest in a DSLR (like the Canon Rebel T3 or Nikon D3000) already. If not a DSLR, the camera should be around $300 or less.

New Nikon Camera Body vs New Nikon Lens?

I recently just inherited a good chunk of money and would like to invest it into my growing interest in cameras/photography. I've currently had my current body for about 1.5 years. A Nikon D50. This camera has been all but too good to me, having been able to do everything I've asked off it. The lenses I currently have are
Tamron 18-2000 3.5-6.3
Nikon 50mm F.1.4
Nikon 35 mm 1.8

I shoot a little bit of everything, but my true passion lies in street and sports photography. The lens I currently have allow me to shoot pretty much anything on the streets, but shooting decent sports photography is currently out of the question.

My question for you is: Should I invest the money in a new body or a new telephoto lens?

I've given myself $1500 to put toward something new.

Low cost wide angle lens for Nikon D3100?

I'm getting a D3100 and want a wide angle lens.something pretty basic. But without any of that fisheye curvy image nonsense. I don't know much about lenses or DSLRs as I've always used a PnS camera. My budget is 80-90 dollars.I've seen some Nikkor wide angles for 80$ .pretty simple. No zoom.

Upgrading to a DSLR best lens options?

I have a Digital camera a Panasonic DMC FZ8 and am going to get a DSLR. I only want the one lens a 28-270 or 18-200. Reading reviews many people say these can give soft images. My question is considering the sensor on DSLR's are so big would the images even soft ones be better quality than my digital camera at 7MP. The bodies i'm looking at are the Nikon D3100 and Canon EOS 500D. Has anyone has expierience with theses lens and body combinations. Yes i know L series lenses and prime lenses are best but way out of my price range.

Added (1). Mainly i take landscapes the occasional rock concert and anything i see just walking around. I have 432mm in 35mm terms and sometimes thats not long enough and cropping losess quality.
