Will a Black rapid rs-4 strap hold onto my Nikon D3100?

So I've been thinking if I wanted to order a Black Rapid Rs-4 strap for my Nikon D3100, but the thing that's holding me back from ordering it is, I have a Nikon D3100 battery grip attached to my D3100 and I was wondering if I put a RS-4 onto my battery grip, will it hold it? Because the Battery grip is made from cheap plastic and there's a Tripod screw mount under it but I don't know if that will break off while being attached to the RS-4 being hanged upside down.

Nikon 18-55mm lens attempts to auto-focus but continues to go back and forth?

I have a Nikon Af-s 18-55mm lens that I have tried on multiple cameras, and all experience the same problem. It used to work fine where I would hold the shutter release button half way down, the lens would focus, then press the rest of the way to take the picture. At some point the lens started acting up. Now when I press the button, the lens continues to go back and forth as if it can't determine when the picture is clear.

At first I thought it must be the sensor in the camera, but the camera works fine with other af-s lenses. The lens still works in manual focus, and everything with the camera works perfect with any other lens.

Any ideas of what the problem may be or solutions?

Added (1). To answer your questions: the lens used to focus correctly on everything, indoors and outdoors, and now does not focus on anything. This happens with my d40, d5100, and d90. I was just hoping for an easy fix, but it sounds like it might just be the end of it's life.

How to autofocus on nikon d3000?

I have a nikon d3000 and sigma 50mm DG Macro lens. When I try to activate any auto focus mode it says that the wrong settings are activated. What should I change so I can autofocus because when I zoom in any more then like 1:5 its blurry and nothing helps, not aperture or shutter speed.

Would it be safe to bring my camera outside in these conditions?

I finally found a sunny day where i have time to film a short film, however the winds are around 20-30 mph. I have a Nikon D5100. I was just wondering if it would be okay for me to bring it outside without any kind of harm done to the camera. I know this question is stupid, but you can never be too careful, especially with something so expensive.
Thanks!

Added (1). Thanks, I was just making sure.
And of course I wouldn't change lenses out there, never!

Is one better than the other or are they about the same when used for this purpose? Also which lens would you all say has better auto-focus? Please respond and thanks.

Best software to develop nikon d5100 raw to jpeg?

I currently use the latest asee dsee and am quite happy with it, but when saving to jpeg it makes the photo granier then the raw file. Note I do not have noise reduction enabled on my camera. I also tried the latest trial of adobe lightroom and find it boring, featureless and overly complicated with a bad layout to boot. What do you use and why? Any developing advice would also be appreciated as I'm a novice.
