How to use a nikon speedlight on a Nikon D3100 without extra components?

I have the Nikon D3100 and want to rent first, then buy (when I have enough saved up) a nikon flash. Problem is, I heard something about the d3100 not having something inside the camera to use nikon flashes… I don't remember what It is but I think it has to do with flash. And that I would have to buy some kind of cord or transmitter, or smething.

Question is, How can I use lets say the Nikon SB-800 or 900 without having to buy another $100 accessory? Does anyone know of any Nikon flashes that will successfully work with my Nikon D3100 without me having to by another cord, or something that will cost another $100?

I heard the SB-700 will work with my d3100 without anything else but I want to hear from people who know both my camera and lens well.

Is using the Nikon D3100 without its lens okay?

1. I want the Nikon D3100, but I don't have much money. I found this camera at Radio Shack for only $300 IF you purchase it without the lens. I will buy the lens another time. Will I still get amazing quality without the lens?
2. This girl uses the Nikon D3100 with lens Nikkor 50 mm / f1, 8 and gets this amazing quality as a result. This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for in using this DSLR camera:

I want the shot to be really detailed and clear.
2. Same shot but I want like. The pupils of the eyes to be clear and the rest of it out of focus.

I bought NikonD3100 recently. I had a sigma compatible lens to models like Nikon FE2.So now I tried taking picture with it using NikonD3100. I don see any image. So is it possible to do any conversion or adjustment so that I could use my old sigma lens and present camera D3100.
