Does nikon d5100 have a vivid scene mode?

I have been a canon user eversince. In fact, i already have a canon eos 550d. But i read that nikon produces richer colours, and i'm planning to buy one, specifically, the d5100. But i envy canon 60d's vivid mode in their presets. Does nikon d5100 have this? I don't want to buy 60d mainly becoz i wanted to try nikon too, and secondly becoz it is more pricey compared to nikon d5100.

i'm using photoscape for post processes. And yes, you read it right! I have extra money to buy a nikon d5100 becoz i simply want it. I just sold my canon G11 and want to buy another dslr. I'm a camera lover and already have 6 units, 5 are compact digicams. I wanted a canon 60D but also thought of trying out nikon systems. You didn't answer my question, does nikon d5100 have a vivid mode in scene selection or not? The answer is just a simple yes or no, unless you can't understand english language.

I'm camping for a week in the desert, how do I charge my DSLR?

I'll be gone for 7 days hiking in the middle of nowhere. My camera is a Nikon D5100 and the batteries are $50 apiece. Is there a cheaper way to just charge one battery somehow? I'm confused about solar panels and camera camping gear.

Nikon D3100 DSLR camera?

I'm wanting a Digital SLR camera, I have been searching and researching for a few weeks now, and I'm leaning toward the Nikon D3100. I'm wanting to take mostly landscape photos, but I also want a camera that I can use to take photos of everything with. I was just wanting some advice. I have read so many conflicting reviews on this camera, I'm just wanting some advice from anyone who has used the camera or knows about it. Any information is appreciated. Help regarding choice of my 1st DSLR?

I'll be buying my 1st DSLR shortly. Given the type of photography I pursue(landscape, cityscape, wildlife, bird… And my budget I have got two choices with me
1. Nikon D3100 with a 18-55 lens and a 70-300 lens
2. Canon EOS 1100D with a 18-55 lens and a 55-250 lens.

Which one should I opt for? Please do help me.
