DSLR camera issue with manual shutter speed / aperture settings - not enough exposure?
Long story short the image is way too dark (i.e., pitch black), unless I put it on the slowest shutter speed… Aka 1 second. This is only happening in the manual settings though - even when shutter speed is manual and aperture is auto. When I set my camera on auto, exposure is just fine. So I took the auto shutter speed / aperture combination and applied it manually. Theoretically, the the exposure should have been the exact same… Nope, the image was way to dark. Do you think the camera is broken? I did accidentally get my finger inside it while I was changing lenses, although everything loooks alright in there…
p.s. My camera is the Nikon D5100 and it's only a few months old - very little use.
Added (1). ISO = 100

And how do I find the number of the shutter closure (speed) on my camera? I have a Nikon D5100 btw.

Why is Aperture 3 changing the coloring on my pictures? How can I fix it?
I use Aperture 3 as my photo organizer and color processing (Photoshop for heavier processing if needed) but I've noticed that its changing the colors of the pictures once I select them to edit. This bugs me because its changing the colors of the original photo (photo in camera) to almost totally different colors. I shoot in RAW format with a Nikon D5000.It hasn't done this in a dramatic way until today. And once it changes the colors I can't change it back to the original colors, or as far as I know.
Can someone explain to me how to fix this so that the colors stay the original colors (the colors show in camera), and/or how why this happens? A link to a source would be nice too.
Here's a screen shot of the color changes.
Notice the sign on the right is red, that's the original color (same as in camera). I have yet to select that photo so it hasn't changed to the colors as the photos on the left side have.

Planning to buy my first dlsr!
I'm gonna use it for both picture and video…
Which one should I go for?
A57 or D5100… And why?

I was just wandering as i like the look of the D7000 and most likely it will go down in price when the next model is released so do you guys know when it may be released.

I've been with my Nikon D40 along with collecting lenses for some years and now feel like I'm ready to take a leap a level up in processing, what next model Nikon would fit perfectly next? I'm in a budget of no more then $1, 000
