I'm looking to get a good flash for my Nikon D3100, I've never worked with external flashes before so I'm Hoping it can do auto as well as manual so i can learn as i go better.i've seen really cheap ones on Amazon ($40-$80) but none of them have auto AND manual, also what are Nikons extra things like Creative lighting and TTL? Is there a cheap priced flash that does TTL?
i'm not really a beginner to DSLR Photography just External flashes.
my price range tops out at around $100 or $150 keep that in mind too, i can always just keep saving but i hope not to go much higher than that.

Which One Is Better?

What does a Nikon D90 dead battery look like? L?
My Nikon D90 isn't working but the battery is flashing and it looks like there's 1 bar left, I have never let my camera battery completely die there for I don't know what it looks like but my camera will turn on but none of the buttons will work and the battery icon is flashing

I have a Nikon D5100 and all the pictures started showing up black, any ideas?
I have a Nikon D5100 with a Tamron lens, and my aunt was taking photos in quick succession just for fun. When we looked at them all, they were just black, no color or anything. It was taking photos very normally up to that point, so this came very out of the blue. Does anyone have any idea about what might be broken?
Added (1). I've tried every setting and nothing has worked.

So I have a Nikon D40, my focal length 18-55mm, the standard lens that came with it, and I don't really need to read it to do plan of shots, but I'm more interested in doing more professional shots. I like doing skyscapes at night but I don't know what to set my shutter or aperture to. Some one said I should set it to 1/40sec but I don't know how to read that on my camera, mine shows up 3ooo, 30, 2oooo and a few others that I have no idea what they mean. I know my F6 is my aperture (mine only goes to F8 i think), but when I switch modes from shutter to apeture, they rest until I go back to the previous mode. So I don't know what mode I should be shooting this kind of photography in either. So uh how do I do this?

Is this lens compatible with my Nikon D5100?
I'm looking at purchasing the Nikon ED AF Nikkor 70 - 300 1:4 - 5:6 D Lens used from a local photographer, but before I do would like to confirm that it is compatible with the Nikon D5100?
I know the 5100 needs the lens to have a motor in it or something for autofocus… Is that correct and does this lens have it?
I have experience with DSLRs and photography but am clueless when it comes to doing things other than actually USING the product!

What are the default DPIs of the Nikon D40, D3000, and D3100?

Nikkor 70-300mm, to VR or not to VR?
I'm looking at purchasing a used Nikkor lens, and am debating between spending a bit extra on the VR or going the cheaper route with the same lens without the VR. What are the differences?
Added (1). For use with the D5100

What kind of lenses can I get for my Nikon D5100?
I'm starting to expand my hobby and am purchasing the Nikon D5100. Assuming I decide to purchase the kit lens (18-55mm) I would like to add one more. For price reasons I'm looking at Tamron instead of Nikkor.
Ideally, I would like to get something with the largest range possible, I just don't know exactly what I need to look for to be sure it is compatible (I know there's something about the autofocus motor or something?).
If anyone can suggest a specific lens or a few that would be wonderful, don't have to be Tamron (but the cheaper the better!)
Added (1). I'm not a beginner with DSLR cameras… I have used my dad's Nikon for a few years now and have just decided to purchase my own. I know that I want an additional lens, 55-300 or similar, and am not just purchasing one because I've been told to do so but because I have experience with the basic 18-55.
