Is the Nikon D90 DSLR still a Worthy camera to buy as it is now 4 Years old?

People seem to forget that when you buy a DSLR camera you are buying technology and technology as we all know goes out of date. (Example anyone remember VHS Video camcorders thought not)
I'm looking for a replacement for my elderly Nikon D40 DSLR which I have owned from new. I looked at the D3100 but I'm not happy with the camera body build quality, The camera body seems to be "Watered down" in quality over the quality of the D40 Body (For a entry model the D40 had a good build quality with nice tight shut lines and no creaks with a nice Grip feel which is more than can be said for the Canon entry models DSLR cameras like the 1000d and the 1100d)
I don't need a rear screen that spins around so that rules out the Nikon D5100
So the only models left are the D90 and the D7000
I'm not sure I want to spend almost £800 on a D7000 body
So the only choice left is the Nikon D90.
My only problem is the D90 is now 4 YEARS OLD. The current generation DSLR cameras have better low light ISO performance and better 1080HD movie mode (I would not be using the movie mode much but it is a nice option to have)
OR Should I wait and the D7000 will fall in price (And it will)
Sorry I'm waffling now. Is the Nikon D90 DSLR still worth buying (Despite being 4 Years old)

Nikon D3100 problems?

Okay, so I have a Nikon D3100 camera, and I usually use it to record videos. I haven't recorded a new video for about a month or so, and today I recorded a video, but when I would play it back, there would be no sound. I only noticed this now (because like I said, I haven't recorded in a while), but when I play the video on my computer, there would be sounds. Can anyone help me? How do I get the sounds to playback on my camera? It's not on mute by the way.

What lens should I use?

I was just looking for a Lens for my Nikon D3000, and I use it for spotting planes, I currently have 2 lenses an 18-55 and a 18-105 lens both from nikon but they don't have enough zoom. However my mom has a rebel xsi and has a sigma 18-200mm lens made by sigma. So I was wondering what a good lens is for spotting and should I get a Sigma?

What are good beginner lenses for Nikon?

I'm getting a Nikon D7000 and I wanted other lenses so I don't have to keep using the 18-105 every time. Please list 5 lenses and please don't put an expensive lens on your list.thanks.

Added (1). Gee, thanks Fhotoace. Lol, I do know some things about photography. I know the D7000 is probably a semi pro camera but I want a camera that I'm gonna have for a long time. Plus I'm using my own money, It's not like my parents are gonna buy it for me so I don't think I'm spoiled. I'm usually gonna take portrait and sport photography, but mostly candid.

Lens on a crop lens camera?

If I put a 50 mm 1.8 lens on a Canon D7 or a Nikon D7000, is it still 50mm? Even if the lens is a DX Lens for Nikon? I'm confused.

What software should I use to open RAW images in Windows?

I have a Nikon D3000 and I always put it on the highest quality, not RAW but the one below it which I think is large or HI or something like that but my mom puts her Rebel XSi on RAW however she owns an apple so it shouldn't e a problem for her. She usually likes to use aperture. Now do you guys know of any software's that I can use to open the pictures she sent me and also can you please tell me if RAW is any better that Jpeg?

How to improve my photography skills with my Nikon D40?

As I asked about getting a new Nikon camera, but they had said to learn to use some new skills of photography. I really like the focusing of an object/person, and then the background area will be blurried. I just want that to be enhanced.

NIkon d3100 video limit?

I've been looking at buying the nikon d3100 as I'm looking for an entry level dslr to take pictures but also shoot in 1080p for some of the videos i make. I've read there's a 10 min limit on video recording now is this 10 min limit all you get or can you stop recording then press record again and it will record for another 10mins? What I'm basically saying is it only capable of recording 10min total or just 10mins at a time? Also will a standard lens be good enough for filming the 1080p video in?
