Nikon D7100 release date?

I was just wandering as i like the look of the D7000 and most likely it will go down in price when the next model is released so do you guys know when it may be released.

There are no specifics as of yet. The most likely release will be a D600, which is not really a replacement for the D7000. Supposedly it will be a full-frame entry level camera, but it is supposed to have at least an in-body focus motor for AF lenses.

However, more than one DSLR may be announced next month as Nikon has strongly hinted of some major announcements during the September Photokina show.

Even then, it is likely going to take a couple of months after the announcement before cameras arrive at the dealer's shelves in quantity. So I would not expect much before the end of the year. So that would be a good planning strategy.

There are lots of rumours about a D7100 this year but nothing of any substance. The D7000 has dropped in price in recent months anyway. I know, because mine was purchased in June and since then the body price has dropped from about £880 with 80 quid cashback to its current £713.60 at Amazon.co.uk:-|

If the D7100 does appear speculation is that it will be 24MP, the same as the D3200, but as little other information has emerged it's either being kept a well guarded secret or it is a while off yet.
