No memory card found but there's a memory card in it (Nikon D3100)?

I've ejected the card, put back on. But it still says "No memory card found". Help! Should I buy another memory card or is my camera damaged? Gulp. I need your help!

Added (1). Took a lot of pictures and videos this day. I don't know why this is happening, it didn't happened before. I can use the card on my computer but not on my camera!

Macro Lenses for Nikon D5100?

I bought a Nikon D5100 dSLR the other day and I'm thrilled with it.

I was wondering-- can anyone recommend a good macro (close-up) lens for the D5100? In particular, due to limited budget, I'm looking for something under $200.

What is a decent starter scope for Astrophotography?

Hi, I'm looking into this hobby with my Nikon D3100 DSLR. This is mainly for my own satisfaction, and I was wondering what a good scope would be to start with. I would like to have tracking on it for long exposures of distant objects. I'm currently researching building a "barn door" for wide angle shots, but would also like to go a little deeper.

I'm also in the process of learning the sky, and hope to get started with wide angle soon, but thought I would have a scope in mind for when I'm ready to move up. Sadly, with the current economy I only have a budget of about $350 for the telescope alone, which is fine since I would like to just look through it before I get all the equipment necessary to piggy-back my Nikon.

I know this isn't a large budget, but I'm sometimes confused by the terms on sites. I have heard Orion is good and to avoid "high levels of magnification" to start.

Any help would be greatly welcomed. And Thank you.

Added (1). Thank you Geoff. Of course I do not plan on jumping straight in, but getting into it over time. I'm looking to start with the moon, and wide-angle astrophotography (constellations and full sky using a round reflective object) before getting into deep space objects and planets. Again, thank you!

Added (2). Thank you Geoff. Of course I do not plan on jumping straight in, but getting into it over time, and having a scope to learn where to find things. I guess simply I would need an entry level scope available around that price that is the best, to get quality viewing and increase my intrest. I'm looking to start with the moon, and wide-angle astrophotography (constellations and full sky using a round reflective object) before getting into deep space objects and planets. Again, thank you!

Should I trade my Nikon D3000 for a Canon T2I?

My dad bought me the D3000 and two lenses, a 18-55 and 55-200mm lens. He asked me the other day if I wanted to trade him for his Canon T2i, which is a better camera. He wouldn't keep it he'd sell it with all the extra accessories. Also if I don't trade him he's going to sell the T2i. Should I trade him, or just keep what I have, and keeping adding on to it?

DX lens on a APS-C SLR body?

I'm still pretty new with buying camera equipment and I'm looking at getting a new lens for my camera (Nikon d5100) and I'm looking at the Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Autofocus Lens. Is that a good choice? I did some research and the website that I'm buying from said "DX lenses are NOT recommended for use with 35mm, "full-frame" digital, or APS SLR cameras" Which is what the Nikon d5100 is, right? I tried looking up all sorts of things but I'm just not sure what's true or not. I did see somewhere that the Nikon d5100 is a DX, but again, I'm just not sure and I don't want to jump into something without knowing all of the facts! If you guys could give me anything on this question I would greatly appreciate it!

Canon Rebel vs Nikon?

I'm looking for a new DSLR camera. I've been considering the Canon Rebel EOS T3i, and the Nikon D5100. I'm not a professional photographer (yet. ), but am looking for a very high quality camera. These cameras are clearly quite an investment, so I'm looking for opinions/reviews on each camera, to hopefully decide which to purchase. I'm looking for high-quality photos, amateur-friendly features, proper color balance, and just the general better camera. And also, if there's any other camera that you find better than the two I'm debating, please mention!

Best lens for Nikon D3100?

I'm looking for a second lens for my Nikon D3100. At this point, I take portraits outside of people/babies/families/couples. Maybe looking for a wide angle lens? Wanting to stay under $300, if that is possible.

Any suggestions?

Is my nikon d3200 broken?

I have A NIKON D3200 i have been using it fine up until today. I have gone to take a picture and i get nothing but black.i've checked the obvious, lens cap not on, aperture, shutter, iso, fired in manual at well over exposed settings, and still black.i'm at a loss. Any ideas

Added (1). I do know how to use my camera.i, ve been using Dslrs for a few years now. I can read a light meter and there's no way, in any light, that a F3.5 20 sec exposure with flash should come out black.

Added (2). Bizarre oddity.live view preview works fine. Would this work if the shutter was broken?
