Is my nikon d3200 broken?

I have A NIKON D3200 i have been using it fine up until today. I have gone to take a picture and i get nothing but black.i've checked the obvious, lens cap not on, aperture, shutter, iso, fired in manual at well over exposed settings, and still black.i'm at a loss. Any ideas
Added (1). I do know how to use my camera.i, ve been using Dslrs for a few years now. I can read a light meter and there's no way, in any light, that a F3.5 20 sec exposure with flash should come out black.
Added (2). Bizarre oddity.live view preview works fine. Would this work if the shutter was broken?

How experienced are you using s fully adjustable camera?
Have you taken at least one class in photography?
My guess is that you do not know how to use the cameras light meter.
For now, call Nikon and ask for help.

Occasionally a lemon does slip under the radar, since it's a new camera, you can either go to where you bought it or contact Nikon directly. The telephone number is usually in the manual.

Could be a number of things, but you might want to troubleshoot by using another lens (if you have one) and change ad cards. Otherwise it might your shutter is messed up?

If the live preview works I would say there's a problem with the data transfer between the processor and the memory or storage try changing the memory card. If this does not work then the problem is in the camera and will need repair.
Hope This Helps.
Good-Luck!

Are they being down loaded black or the preview on the back is black? If the preview on the back in black then the auto preview is off just press the arrow symbol on the top left by the lcd screen and see if the image will come up.
