WIll my broken AF-S lens work with Nikon body that supports AF-I lenses?
I have a standard Nikon 18-55mm AF-S lens. The autofocus is broken (I assume the silent wave motor) and I'm wondering if I buy a Nikon D7000 that will work with say an AF-I lens ( a lens without the autofocus motor in the lens itself). Will a broken AF-S lens work like an AF-I lens when attached to a camera that supports AF-I focusing. Obviously when using the broken AF-S lens on the camera I would turn off the autofocus all together and turn it onto manual focus mode.

So i have a d3100 and my friend has a canon t1 or something. I think my image quality is better but i noticed that his camera has a cool effect when taking videos. Its like a little yellowish and he said he just turned the color settings to vivid. I did the but mine doesn't do it.
is it just the canon?

Is AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D for this situation?
I want a portrait lens for my Nikon D3000-I'm looking for something that lets in a lot of light, which is why I like the 1.8. I want to take most head/shoulders shots, as well as full body, but obviously I need two different lenses for those so I'm focusing on the first for now. I want very high quality glass, but a lens under $250. I know that the Nikon D3000 will allow this lens to perform like a 75mm lens. I plan on using manual focus mostly.

Can Digital SLR's zoom in and out whilst recording video?
I googled and found this question: which says it is dependant on the lens type but basically that if you have a zoom lens you can zoom in on a DSLR whilst recording video.
I'm considering purchasing the Nikon D5100 and the Nikon Nikkor 18-105mm lens. Now I know the D5100 has this cool constant autofocus feature whilst recording video, so can I zoom in and out whilst recording video with this camera/lens combo?
Also, are there any youtube videos to help me get to grips with filming on the D5100?

Need to know about the types of cameras?
I need to kno why the nikon d5100 is costly than d3200, the 3200 has 24 mega pixels but the 5100 has only 16. Why is it like that? And also d90… It has only 12mpixels and costly than 5100. Same i noticed in canon models also. I know some functions may be different, but what? I also noticed a nikon's model with 36 mega pixel is also costly… Can anyone explain why?

Can I use Nikon D5100 with Starblitz 320BTZ flash?
I have an old StarBlitz 320BTZ flash which I'd like to use with my Nikon D5100. I'm very confused with the voltage related damage or any other issues with this combination. If some one has tried this or has information about this flash with Nikon D5100 please do let me know!
