Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 with D5000?

Just a quick question. Does the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 work with the Nikon D5000? As in will it autofocus? What's your best/other suggestion for this range of lens for a D5000?

My Nikon D80 keeps blinking error where the iso should be

It blinks "Err" where the iso should be(the iso auto also blinks above the battery icon), and i can take pictures but they don't show up on the playback screen, instead it says "folder contains no images".It won't let me pop the flash up, and when i put it in auto focus it doesn't move at all. Also when i take a picture the aperture shows for like a second.
I have a Tamron AF 28-80mm lens on it. I've taken the lens off, blew inside trying to get any dust out, That didn't work
I have a 16 GB digitalfim SD memory Card. I tried formatting it, that didn't work. I put my memory card in my friends canon and it worked fine.
I'm still leaning towards there something being wrong with the lens, but i need a second opinion and some other tips on how to fix it on my own.

Is it better for me to buy the Canon 7D instead of the 60D?

Is it better for me to buy the 7D instead of the 60D for my first DSLR camera? I'm planning on buying my first DSLR camera but it's not my first time handling and using these cameras. I'm interested in mostly taking portraits and landscapes. Or should I wait for the Nikon D7000 to be released in my country (Singapore)?

Good entry level DSLR camera?

I was looking at Nikon mostly, but if you have some suggestions for Cannon I would appreciate it.
I'm more interested in the Nikon D5000** and D3100
If you have experience with the cameras, jot them down also.

How would it be to use Nikon 70-300VR lens on a Nikon D3000?

I have a D3000 with me and i'm in real need of a good zoom range.
I read that FX lenses appear much longer on DX cameras.
Like 70-300 will be 105-450.
Is it really worth? How are the results? Please do help.
