Just a quick question. Does the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 work with the Nikon D5000? As in will it autofocus? What's your best/other suggestion for this range of lens for a D5000?

I love tamron due to the flexablity of the lenes. They normally work well with canon and nikon. I would read the information about it on their site it should tell you!

Tamron AF 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD IF Macro Lens (Nikon). This one has a built-in AF motor and would focus on your camera.

The newer Tamrons that specify "Nikon mount" have the internal focus motor. Watch out for older lenses, do the research. Manual focus is not such a bad thing however for landscapes.
