A decision between Canon D50 and the Nikon D7000?

So I've done research and narrowed my choices to either the Canon D50 or the Nikon D7000; money is not really an issue so I'm flexible in going with any of the two mentioned. Although I'm a bit more inclined to the D7000, I just want some outside perspective as to which one would be more suitable in a more universal way, other then the generic "me knowing myself the most" kind of deal.

I'm not a "professional" but neither am I someone who takes pictures at weddings or sporting events and call it a "photo shoot". I take it rather seriously but again, I'm not what someone would call "professional". I've been shooting with the Canon G10 for about 2 and a half years and I do have some experiences.

DSLR Camera decisions? Please?

My options are:
Sony Alpha A230L Black 10MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Standard Zoom lens
Nikon D3000 Black DSLR Camera Kit w/ 18-55mm Lens (Non VR), Includes Nikon Camera Bag
or a
Fujifilm FinePix S1600 12MP Digital Camera Bundle w/ 15x Optical Zoom, 3" LCD Display, Image Stabilization, Includes 4GB SDHC Card, Camera Case, 100 Bonus Prints Offer

The Fujifilm is cheapest but includes more with the bundle, and the Nikon is most expensive with less in the bundle…

which overall would be my best choice?

Looking For A Camera?

So i'm looking for a camera! I want to get a Nikon D5000 but i wanna know if it's worth saving up for or if i can get one with all the things I'm looking for for cheaper. Now i'm not a professional, i only do like taking pictures for myself, i take pictures of my high school shows and other performances for myself to look at.So, I want one that would work well with stage lights, one with a very big zoom, good for action shots, very good qaulity, and 1080 HD video recording. Does anyone know any cameras with qualities like these for cheaper but equal standards to a Nikon D5000?

I'm looking for a compact digital camera, which one?

I have a nikon d40 slr but I find it hard to just break it out for spur of the moment photos. I have an olympus compact but it takes around 3/4 seconds to take a picture so I'd like a compact that has very quick response. I'll probably buy it on ebay second hand but am just wondering what I should be looking out for?

Which and where can I get a remote for my Nikon D3000?

I want a remote for my Nikon D3000 but I don't know which one to get. Should I buy the 20 pounds [expensive though!] remote from Nikon, or a more compatible remote that's like 5 pounds [found on amazon]
Which one would be better [I just want a simple remote - nothing fancy] and where can I get one? I'd prefer not to buy online -[i live in the uk] could I get them in an curry store or something?

Auto focus on the Nikon D5000?

I'd been using the standard 18-50mm and 55-200mm lenses on my Nikon D5000 and the Auto focus feature works on those 2. However, I recently bought the 50mm F1.4 D lens, which understandably isn't fully compatible with Nikon D5000 but can still be used manually. However, after using the 50mm, the other 2 zoom lenses seem to have now lost Auto focus and will only work entirely manually! Is that something common? Could there be a fault? I checked all the settings in the camera, and everything's geared to AF, and the AF button on the lenses themselves has also been activated. Could the 50mm have ruined the camera body!
