Inexpensive macro lens for nikon d80?
Upgraded to digital lately but my lens now are a bit distorted. So I'm looking for a good basic lens for walking about where I won't have to be switching lenses constantly (already have a telephoto). I'm leaning towards f/2.8 for a cleaner picture and a tameron because I'm on a budget.

Which DSLR camera? Cannon or Nikon?
I'm looking for a DSLR camera right now. I'm looking to spend in the $500 - $700 range because I don't want to make a huge investment until I get used to using one and have a better idea of the capabilities and what I really want in it. I'm between the Cannon Rebel SX and the Nikon D3000. I'm looking to take mostly family pictures. Posed pictures of my family, action shots of kids and pets, as well as scenery pictures on family vacations, things like that. Which camera would you recommend and why?

Taking Black & White pics w/ Nikon D3100?
I have a new Nikon D3100. What is the easiest way to take Black/White Photos. I'm sure there's a setting to switch it to without going through several menu screens. I'd love to be able to just hit a button or switch modes to quickly go back and forth.

I have just bought a new Nikon D3100. The camera has 1080p HD movie mode and I'm currently experimenting with depth of field created by choosing a small f.stop. In some conditions my camera restricts me from choosing the lowest f.stop even in full manual mode, how do I allow my camera to use the widest aperture possible? Sometimes it allows me to go down to 3.5 but sometimes I can only choose 5.

I want to buy a lens filter but am unsure on what size to get?
I have a nikon d40 with the standard 18-55mm lens. I want to buy some filters for it but am unsure what size to get. I've read that I should get a 52mm but after measuring across the lens it comes out as 55, is that the size I should get or is there something else I'm missing?
