I just got a nikon d3100 and i realized it didn't come with a usb cable, so i went to best buy and bought "rocketfish" mini usb cable. It fits into both the camera and computer but then nothing happens. I tried turning the camera on while the cable is attached but again, nothing happened.

Trying to find the right camera?
I'm really hoping to get a DSLR camera for Christmas this year, but for my parents, brother, and/or friend to get it i have to find one around the price of 200 dollars. I have fallen in love with the Nikon D3100 and the Nikon D3000 and love the features and the picture you can get out of them, but i may be willing to compromise. If I had a wish list for what I would want in a camera it would be…
* Manual Focus
* Continuous Shooting
* Micro Focus (shooting very up close with high quality)
* Different Shutter Speeds
* White Balance
* Different Shooting options (landscape, portrait, ETC.)
If you guys could help me on my quest for a nice camera to help be blossom into the photographer i want to become, be give any/ all ideas!

Nikon D60 battery not charging?
I bought my D60 about a year ago, and recently the battery won't charge anymore. I charge it for a few hours (as I always have) but when I put it in the camera it still has no bars in the battery. It then turns off.
Does anyone else have this problem? And what can be done? Would I need to buy a new battery?

Life Expectancy: Ideal number of clicks for DSLR camera?
I'm planning to buy a used nikon d90 with about 15, 000 clicks.
what would be a reasonable number of clicks for a camera to be considered a "good" condition?
what is the life expectancy of a DSLR camera in general?

I currently have a NIKON 28-100 3.5-5.6 lens on my d80. Because of cropping on a digital I'm having to back far away to take pics I used to take with ease. Also when I take evening pictures the shutter takes too long causing blur unless I use a tripod or an inanimate object. I'm looking for:
1. Lens that would take great landscapes. 18-75?
2. Would not require flash or tripod to take sunset, night cityscape photos. VR?
3. Under $300
I also have a 100-300 lens, so I'm not looking for telefoto.

Would these lenses work with my Nikon D3000?
I have a Nikon D3000 and I was wondering if these lenses are fully compatible with my camera. I'm pretty shure these lenses would work with my camera, but the auto focus feature is the one that I'm most concerned about. Here are the two lenses Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom Lens with Built In Motor for Nikon Digital SLR and Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 SLD DG Macro Lens with built in motor for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras.

Upgrading my Nikon Camera Lens?
I Have a Nikon D5000 camera with a Nikon AF S-18-200. I take pictures of swimming, motocrosses, soccer and running events. Thinking about upgrading to the Nikon 70-200mm AF-s VRII is it worth the money and that much better.
