The D60 is the more feature rich camera. The video mode is very well done and it takes excellent stills. It is though a good $300 more than the T1i. If I was a semi pro/advanced enthusiast who really wanted to do video, I would get the 60D. It reality though, the T1i i more than adequate for 90% of photographic situation. The only real downside in comparison to the 60D is that the video is just not as sophisticated. It is still very good. Quality of the stills, though, should be very close. It is reallup to what you think is important.

It is usually NOT a good idea to switch from one camera system to another.

While the Nikon D60 is an older entry level dSLR, you may want to take a good hard look at the Nikon D3100 which replaces the D60.It is the only dSLR with Full HD video (1080p) that can use auto-focus in the video mode.

Take a look at the sensor performance of those three cameras and see if you really want to make such a radical move.

The D3100 represents a substantial savings over the two Canon's you listed and you will NOT have to replace any of your current lenses

I will recommend Canon and Nikon models.

T1i - Why not the T2i, it's much better
60D - Excellent, similar to T2i and 7D with different features and stuff

Nikon D3100 - Excellent, only around 700$ and offers a lot
D90

I bought the Canon t1i three months ago. I absolutely love it. As far as the differences between the T1i and the T2i, other than a 3 mega pixel difference, there isn't a whole lot of difference between the two. I bought the T1i with a regular lens and a telephoto lens on Amazon for 924 dollars, with many gadgets and a shoe mount flash. It was an awesome deal. I definitely recommend the T1i for those considering it.
