Pentax, Canon, or Nikon?
I know for sure that I'm getting my first DSLR soon, but which brand to you prefer and why? The reason I put Pentax in is because of the Kx, which has more features than most of the nikons and canons I've looked at.
The Pentax is by far the best for a first user, iw uld definently suggest the pentax kx- kr, check em out on amazon, you'll find their best value for moneys
I just got my first SLR in october, and i love it, it's the Canon EOS Rebel T1i and it's very user friendly. I've also heard good things about the Canon EOS Rebel T2i. A employee told me that nikon is more for experienced people, in some cases.
Most of us regulars here use and recommend Canon and Nikon. These are the two best camera companies on the planet - bar none. I'm a Canon guy so that's what I recommend.
As stated above I also have a t1i, an excellent camera. It also does HD video by the way.
First time user I'd probably suggest my other camera, the Canon Rebel XS. It does not do video.
It's an excellent still camera. I've had this for over a year and half so I know it and can say it's just excellent.
There's a fixation in the minds of many that nothing meets the quality of the Canon and Nikon. They are patently full of themselves. Pentax equipment is superb and always has been. They were in the camera market before either Canon or Nikon, but like Sony and Olympus, they do not buy the market.
Simply get the best camera that you can afford and still have some money in your pocket when you walk out of the store.
I've never tried pentax but i would def go w/ nikon before canon
