Assistance required urgently: O?
I'm a complete amateur when it comes to cameras, really, i have no idea lol, but regardless i'm extremely keen to learn, i'm interested in purchasing either a canon or nikon slr/dslr for under a $1000, i'll be using it to shoot young children & infants both inside & outside, but am confused as to whether this type of camera most suited for my desired purpose, taking it to account it's functions, lens etc? As you can already tell by my lack of lingo & blatant lack of knowledge on this subject that i have alot to learn lol, so i'm asking anyone with suggestions as to what camera is best, and if there are any downfalls, things to look for/out for. Also if anyone has any experience in shooting infants, do you have any creative suggestions as to what backdriop works best with what lighting etc. And of any interesting themes, prop ideas.
Do Nikon's DX format lenses scale up?
This month's Popular Photography has a review of Nikon's 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G DX ED VR AF-S lens. In the first paragraph, they say it scales up to the full-frame equivalent of 82.5-450mm. Does it? I was under the impression that it was only FX lenses that do that on a DX body, not vice-versa.
Give me the low down on current DSLR cams on the market?
I'm an all-round graphic designer and have lately gotten an interest in photography and film making. I heard that the Canon DSLRs produce both stunning video and photo quality, but Nikon has better photo quality. I checked up on the 7D and it runs into $2000+ and I'm just wondering what you're paying for.
I'm not planning to be a professional photographer or film maker, but I'm serious about utilizing these things into my profession as a graphic designer. Can I get a recommendation on what model would be suitable for me? I don't need the best of the best, but I want something decent for on-the-side film making (HD quality).
Some tips for buying second hand lenses?
I want a high performance lens but do not want to pay a high-performance price. From time to time, I have seen used lenses in shop windows. What is the most obvious fault to look for in such purchases. I believe that some Nikon lenses tend to have the autofocus mechanism embedded in the lens, whereas Canon generally has everything in the camera body. Is that a fair generalization? If that is the case, does this mean that canon lenses are more durable than nikon?
Added (1). A million shutter cycles! That should be enough for at least one weekend.haha!
Bokeh effect in photography? - 1
I have a nikon s5100 slr. How can I create bokeh effects with it.
What does it mean when your rechargable batterie reads battery exhausted?
My Nikon battery is new. My second one. After I charged my battery it clicked and now the read out on the display screen on the camera reads "battery exhausted". Now it doesn't do anything else. Any ideas?
If it is 'over' charged, is there anything I can do to make it work?
Need some help choosing a good digital SLR?
I'm fifteen. I plan on making a career in photography. Already have it all planned out. I'll live in a place packed full of great scenery (right now I want to live in Wyoming!) and wildlife. That'll be most of my pictures. I'm not too good at people photography. And I think wildlife just makes better photos to begin with. ANYWAYS. This year--in a month, actually-- my family and I will be going to Yellowstone. After a year and a half of begging, my mom finally agreed to getting me a DSLR. She agrees Yellowstone would be a great learning experience and that I really am sticking to photography. I have $400 saved up. I plan on getting a job soon. She said she'll pay for whatever I can't and I will pay her back as soon as I get a job. I would prefer not to go over the price range of $1, 300.
I've handled SLR's before and one or two digital SLR's. It was for a digital photo journalism class I took last semester. Well, I found I really enjoyed the Pentax. But. Canon and Nikon seem to be the best. So I'll mainly look into those as I want this camera to last a long time. I want a good zoom lens for sure (unfortunately I haven't researched photography or cameras at all in the last yearish, so I've forgotten all of the camera lingo.XD So, sorry if I sound like a mjor beginner.). I'd love a macro lens, but that's for a later time. Christmas maybe. Any lenses you suggest for scenic pictures? Or even some portraits? I might look into taking pictures of friends and family at events and such, as well.
Also any camera gear you suggest? I have a.somewhat decent tripod. It'll work, at the least. Other than that, I basically have nata.
Keep in mind I'm a beginner. But I plan on hopefully going pro. So a camera with an excellent manual mode would be great. But I'd like it to have some of the beginner modes (i.e.night, children, portrait, etc.) so I can get used to the feel of the camera.
Thank you So MUCH!
PS: A video mode would be nice, as well. I enjoy being able to take videos and photos on one device.
Who makes better cameras: Nikon or Canon?
Which company makes better SLR cameras?
So when I shoot in continous Mode and press it so it focuses half way then I have the button pressed down and it shoots but it only shoots 3 photos and then it stops? How can I get it to take as long as the shutter button is pressed down? Even when I have it pressed down it stops at 3 shots!
Added (1). Also if it helps I'm shooting in RAW format
I'm thinking about buy the canon sd1400is as a good portable camera so i can save up for the canon rebel. I want to read some reviews before i buy the camera so please tell me how it is. [:
what i'm looking for in a camera is:
-great image quality (great for its price anyway)
-easy to use
-nice effects
-good lighting
-sdf compatible (i had a nikon camera that couldnt do the clear focus and blurry background)
-good battery life
-good video quality although not required
if there's a better camera for under $200 please share.
thank you.
Added (1). I also would like a fast shutter speed between pictures.
