Does the new Canon 600EX-RT have the optical slave like Nikon?

I borrowed a new Canon 600EX-RT from a friend and I was just wondering if it has the "optical slave" like Nikon does(where you put it to SU-4 mode, and it "sync" with almost any camera that produce a flash). I looked at the instruction manual online, and the "optical slave" that Canon refer to requires a second flash… So is there a way that I can slave a 600EX "optically"?

Battery location in the Nikon F?

I got this lovely Nikon F from my grandmother but, I don't know a whole lot about it. I haven't the slightest clue where the batteries would go, our what sort it'd need (though I understand 1.5v batteries could work). Any help is much appreciated!

Nikon DSLR cameras is there a manufacter seal?

I bought a brand new expensive Nikon DSLR camera today. But the big box had no protective seal.
The contents inside was wrapped in transparent small bags, open cardboard and open wrapping, but again these were not sealed.

Seems a bit odd to me as other expensive electricals half this price are always boxed/wrapped up in sealed packaging.

Just wandering is this normal for Nikon to sell brand new DSLR cameras without any protective seal?

Can't find exposure meter Nikon D600?

I can't figure out how to make the exposure meter for my Nikon D600 appear in the viewfinder, I've located it on other cameras but this is the only Nikon I have used, sorry if this is a stupid question it's just annoying cause it would help avoid exposure issues with my shots.

What kind of camera should I look at buying?

I'm getting quite a bit into photography and I'm really wanting to upgrade to a better quality camera. At the moment I just have a small digital camera by Canon, which does the job but I'm a bit limited as to what I can do with it because it's a camera more for somebody who just wanted something to snap some shots for memory's sake. So anyway I wanted to know which is better - Nikon or Canon, and generally what kind of a camera would be versatile, good quality, reasonable price and suitable for a beginner.

Best nikon SLR compare to canon 650d?

I had a plan to buy canon slr 650d. But when i start comparing it with nikon had very good models with the same price,

i'm actually so confused which one to choose?

But as per my knowledge Nikon is only Camera's product based company, but in recent times their products were not so popular, no idea why? , But in canon case, they have 550d, 60d, 650d, 5d mark2, these became so popular, (though i do not like touch screen )

Finally, i need SLR only for photography, not for videos or somether stuff, I can spend few more bucks to choose best one comparing to canon 650d

Best nikon lens for close-up baby pictures?

Right now i have a a film camera, the nikon F80 and i wanted to buy a lens to take pictures of my newborn baby, and i can't spend too much either. I was wondering if a 25 or a 35mm would do it?

Do I zoom with the camera or do I have to adjust the lens manually?

I'm a newbie and just bought my first DSLR. I'm confused on how to use my zoom lens. First, let me say I bought the Nikon D5200 with the 18-55 mm kit lens. I have been trying to figure out how to zoom the lens and I'm just not sure if there's a way to do it automatically with the camera or if I have to adjust it manually. I'm learning as I go, but this will help a lot if I can figure this one thing out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

How much could I sell a Nikon 3100 for?

I have a Nikon 3100 that is barley used. No scratches or anything! I used it probably 4 times. I have a larger lens that I got with it and bought the whole thing for 780 at best buy. How much could I sell it for on perhaps eBay or Craigslist?

Best magazine (s) for photography?

I'm a beginner photographer and was looking at a couple of Photography magazines for interviews with professionals, tips, tricks, new stuff, etc.

I'm a Nikon user, and I know they have a magazine… So maybe that one? I know there are many though.

Any recommendations!
