Does a Nikon 50mm 1.4 Lens need a hood?

I have a canon and have a hood but my friend has a Nikon and we can't seem to find the right one to fit her lens. Didn't know if we needed a hood for the lens either.

Will t2i 550d and 600d t3i b there after 3 years, will canon stop their production. I'm thinking to buy beginner entry level, but i'm waiting n confuse because if canon launch new entry level dslr camera under 3 year with many improvement n changes, i will regret buying the present one, just like you buy new mobile phone n after new one comes you feel to buy the new one.n if canon stop the production of these two cameras, i will b in problem i will regret for not buying earlier n i don't like nikon. I just bought nikon d5200 and i want to use bulb mode but i can't take pictures with more thn 30sex exposures is there any way i can use bulb mode without buying shutter cable or remote coz i have no money left for that.

I have a simple question in my mind that big companies like Canon, Nikons don't use CCD instead of CMOS in their professional cameras, when CCD's are more advantageous than CMOS?

What are some good cameras for a beginning photographer?

I'm 15, I'd really like to get into photography. I've been stuck taking pictures on really old Polaroid cameras and cheap Kodaks and I'd like to do something more. I went to Best Buy to get one, but I was completely lost on what would be good for a beginner. I really like Nikons and Canons but nothing too big--just something I can easily carry on my neck. My parents don't want to spend anymore than 700 dollars on a camera. Any suggestions?
