Best nikon lens for close-up baby pictures?
Right now i have a a film camera, the nikon F80 and i wanted to buy a lens to take pictures of my newborn baby, and i can't spend too much either. I was wondering if a 25 or a 35mm would do it?
The Nikkor 24 mm and 35 mm are too wide for shooting portraits, baby or otherwise.
You need a lens like the Nikkor 85 mm or 105 mm lens (both considered to be the optimal portrait lenses for full frame Nikon's like the F800)
You can find good used ones on KEH, Adorama and B&H Photo.
Nikkor 85 mm. Is the best.
So clear really good.
You can use any lens that can close focus enough for your needs. Hurry up and take picture--s/he won't be a newborn for long.
