Visiting Mexico City - Safety and Precautions?
My wife and I are both 68 years old but we're quite active and steady on our feet. We're both Chinese. We plan to visit Mexico City in June. As we're Chinese, blending in with the crowd and not appearing as tourists would be out of the question. We take many photographs in all places we visit and we intend to do the same in Mexico City. I have a rather big Nikon DSLR camera and I'm wondering if I should bring this to Mexico City. We will only be out visiting tourist sites during the day and have no intention to be out at night. Our means of transport in the city will be by the Metro. If I do bring the camera I will be keeping it in a backpack which I will wear in the front of my body. I will only take the camera out for photography as and when I need to, otherwise it will be inside my backpack. Can anyone advise me with further precautions OR IS IT ADVISABLE TO LEAVE THE CAMERS BEHIND?

I want a new life hobby and I'm really interested in photography. The problem is I have no idea how to start. I want a camera like those professional photographers who carry them everywhere strapped to there chest looking for the perfect pic lol! I'm also in high school so my budget is tight. I heard Nikon cameras were good but I have no idea so could you give me some great suggestions for cameras. Especially ones that i could take great nature photos with and sunrises and roof buildings. Also any tips on photo taking and well any beginner advice would be very appreciated! No kiddy cameras i want it to look professional but fun so i can make a portfolio.

i'm wanting to do sort of a music video with my DSLR like parts of being in the airplane (like showing out the window) and then the rest for my trip.
I'm going to be on southwest.
or when will it be "okay" to use it? I know when they show you the safety video and when they mention to turn off all electronics is when not to use it but is any other time good? Anyone use their DSLR on a plane by southwest? Any trouble?
this is probably the last and only trip i'll have for a long time and so thats why i'm asking cause i'd love to make a music video showing my trip.

Stop Active D-Lighting on Nikon 1 J2?
I read somewhere that you can set the Active D-Lighting to automatic or manual? I personally preferred it before I tried out the Active D-Lighting in the automatic setting, but now I don't know how to change it back to how it was. So does anyone know how you can change it back to manual?

I have this question in my mind that China is a fast developing country in consumer electronics, has china produced any DSLR Camera ever which is world class quality? Like Nikon, canon etc.
