Any Nikon Photographers here?

I would like to invest in a 50mm lens but I do not know which as there are different types like the 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor or the 50mm f/1.8G AF-S NIKKOR FX. What is the difference between the two? Pros/Cons?

What combination of the lenses below would make a good beginners package. I'm a beginner and these are the lenses I'm choosing, I'm going to buy not all of them just a few. What do you recommend? Are these lenses even compatible with the GH2 and I already have a 14-42mm kit lens.

Using a Nikon FX lens in a DX body?

I (might) upgrade to FX one day in the long future, but now, I shoot a DX camera.

I'm really looking to get the Nikkor 28mm f/1.8G to replace my 35mm f/1.8G DX lens. I think that it'll give me a better viewing angle than the 35mm f/1.8 and I can use it indoors without having to move much. I also like the Nano Crystal Coating that is absent with the 35mm f/1.8G DX.

But the question is that, are there any disadvantage of using an FX lens on a DX body, given that the FX lens is an AF-S (can autofocus without body's built-in motor)?

Where can I repair my cracked camera lens?

I'm not sure how it happened, but my 18-55mm lens is broken. It is a AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm and I want to repair it. I can still take pictures with it, but I want to get it repaired. I don't have the money for a new one so I just want to know where I can repair it.

Nikon AF-S Lenses Without VR?

I have two Nikon NIKKOR AF-S lenses with Vibration Reduction (VR), and I'll be getting a third one this week, the prime 40mm f/2.8G DX. This lens does not have VR. For those of you who use NIKKOR lenses, how much of a difference does it make not having VR? I'd like to take alot of macro shots with it. I was reading the manual online and it says to prevent blur caused by camera shake, I should mount the camera on a tripod (which makes sense, of course). But can I take good photos with this lens if I have a reasonably steady hand (i.e. Will I avoid camera shake if I shoot as steadily as I do when using a VR lens)?
