Is a nikon nikkor 400mm lens worth anything?
Not sure how old it is or if its for slr or dslr thanks. It says this as well 1:6.3. Its probably pretty old

Could you post all the data that is written on it?
Such as "Nikkor 200-400mm f/3.5-5.6 AF"
I'm not aware of any f/6.3 Nikkor telephoto lens… But that 1:6.3 also might refer to the magnification ratio, not maximum aperture.
You might have either junk or quite a gem there, so knowing the exact specifications will be important.

Probably it's not worth much then. It might even not be a Nikkor lens but a third party one.
If it comes with a Nikon F-mount then it can be mounted on a dSLR.

That's a long lens if I'm not mistaken and it should come with its own tripod mount.
It's unlikely to be a Nikkor.
The 400mm f6.3 preset is a nice piece of kit, and with the right adapter will mount on any camera, but it's not worth much - I occasionally use mine (originally bought for Pentax) on my Canon.
As long as it works and is in pretty good cosmetic condition, it should be.
