Is this lens compatible with my Nikon F-301?
Wondering whether the Tamron AD2 28mm PRIME Wide angle lens would be compatible with this camera?
The F-301 was released as the N2000 here. It takes Al / Als Nikon lens mount. So it will depend on the lens mount of your Tamron.
Only if it is a Nikkor compliant AI lens
Since the lens is of a single focal lens, you do NOT have to announce that it is a prime lens. All single focal length lenses are primes by definition.
Don't spend a ton on it. It sells in the UK for £4.99, as high as $40 in the US
The "adaptall" lenses were an attempt to make one lens for all camera brands using special adapters, thus reducing the cost of manufacturing
Your problem is finding a Nikon AI Adaptall mount.
Tamron prided themselves that ANY of their (superb) lenses would fit ANY interchangeable lens 35mm SLR (except Leica and Contaflex) due to the Adaptall/Adaptall-2 interchangeable mount system (they even did rare ones like Mamiya ZE and Pentacon electric screw) - while there are plenty of lenses around, the mounts are far more rare, although a common mount like yours should be easier to find than most.
This all went down the tubes when AF came in.
