Camera and Camcorder.all in ONE SLR?
I have a Nikon D80 SLR. I wanted to buy a camcorder to take videos of my first child. But people are telling me to instead upgrade to a SLR that shots both photos and videos like the D7000.
Should I do this? Or just purchase it separately.
What are some things all photographers should have?
I've been asked by family members what I want for Christmas… And would like to pursue photography. I have the camera (Nikon D5000) and a laptop, but that's about it.

Added (1). Eric… I appreciate your answer but I'm not a novice photographer, and I know what it takes. I was simply asking the opinion of professional photographers which piece of equipment they thought was most important… You assumed wrong, I have several lenses for my D5000, more than just what came with the camera. I don't photograph portraits, weddings or families either. You were pretty quick to judge.
Xbox 360, PSP, and DS used prices?
Ok so i'm trying to sell All my videogames to buy a nikon d3100 slr. I wish i never spent all my money on these games i have and now i have some questions.
my xbox 360 was bought about 2 years ago, the one with 20gb hard drive. It has had the red ring of death once and it was fixed. It has nearly no scratches but the disc tray cover is sort of rusty looking i guess and a few tiny brown spots on the console top. I want to know how much i should sell the console for. It would be this= Xbox 360 with 20gb HD, 1 controller, power cord, tv input cords, oh and the console has an HDMI port, so how much would this go for used?
my psp is a slim psp 2000, it was bought about a year and a half ago. Its silver and has the power supply. It has nearly no scratches except for one small one on the back. How much would this go for used?
my DS is the special edition pokemon one with palkia and dialga imprinted on the front. It was bought about a year ago and has tiny scratches only seen with light directly on it. It comes with the charger, a special edition pokemon case it came with, a poster, a dvd, and 2 extra stylus'. How much would this go for used?

I just bought a manfrotto monopod 680b. My camera is nikon d90 with the battery grip, weigh around 2.5 kg. I was wondering what would be the suitable manfrotto monopod head for me that is able to tilt - and + 90 degree and rotates 360 degree.

DLSR Backpack for climbing half dome?
I'm going to be climbing Half Dome in Yosemite in the Spring and I'm looking for a good DSLR backpack. I will be carrying my Nikon D90 with the 18-105 mm kit lens, an extra 55-300 mm lens, and an extra battery. I will also need room to carry a little food (my husband can carry most of that) water, and a light rain coat just in case. I was thinking something with a laptop section would work and I could slip in a hydration pack ( i'll make sure to take waterproofing precautions). I was looking at the Tamrac Adventure 9 online. I'm 5'2 and 120 lbs though I was wondering if that pack would be too big for me to climb half dome with for my first time. Anyone out there with that bag? Or any other suggestions?
I received a Nikon D50 as a hand me down a few months ago. It worked great until a couple of weeks ago. Now there are times when it won't take pictures at all, no matter how far in or out it's zoomed. Then it will suddenly take some pictures. Right now it will take pictures except when it's zoomed all the way in. By the way, it has a Nikon DX 18-55 mm lens. I really want to be able to use it for Christmas (I have 3 kids), and would love for it to work all the time! We don't have a camera repair shop very close to our house.
