Camera and Camcorder.all in ONE SLR?
I have a Nikon D80 SLR. I wanted to buy a camcorder to take videos of my first child. But people are telling me to instead upgrade to a SLR that shots both photos and videos like the D7000.
Should I do this? Or just purchase it separately.
If your main objective is to take video over stills then I would buy a dedicated camcorder. If you;re mostly taking photos with the occasional video then going with a new dlsr may be the answer. Just make sure you get a model that autofocuses in movie mode. Many of the lower priced dslr's don't.
One thing about the slur cameras that take video is that it generally has a shallow depth of field. So i would recommend getting a camcorder
D7000 is awesome, Full HD or HD video with AF is an excellent feature. Of course, it's got great still image performance too.
