How to take GOOD dance recital pictures?
I'm working on getting the Nikon d5000. My sisters best friend and his little sister have their winter recital coming up, he is doing hip hop and she is doing the little kid thing where they do ballet in tap shoes and an acro number (that's gymnastics with dance for you non-dancers). They are 8 and 3. I've seen they practice lots so I know the routines, and I'm a dancer so I'm familiar with how fast certain moves happen. The thing is whenever I take pictures of recitals or comps you can't see the people because of all the light flooding in from the spotlights. I know to crank up the ISO to at least 1600 but thats about it. Extra lenses are NOT an option. With the girl's ballet/tap it will be easy to catch stills once the whole light issue is gone because they don't move much. Hip hop is moderate speed and the acro is mostly summersaults. Any tips photographers?

NIKON D3000 Help. Flash magically stopped working?
I went out last night and I went to go take photos, but my flash was not working. But the night before it was working just fine, I don't know what this can be from. I've had the camera since September, I don't know what can possibly be wrong. I tried all of the settings and NO flash comes on in any of them. I pressed the flash button on the side of the camera as well. Someone please help me before I go insane! ---
Added (1). It says my flash is on! :/

Nikon MH-23 charger doesn't convert voltage?
I'm going to Europe with my camera (D60) and it uses the MH-23 charger. Everywhere online it says it says "120 - 240v" on the back, HOWEVER, mine doesn't!
On the back of mine it says INPUT: 120V ~ 60Hz
No mention of 240.
Additionally, on the cord it says US and 125V 7A.
So that means I need a big clunky voltage converter so it won't explode with the much higher European voltage?

Does the Nikon D60 battery grip shoot either way your holding it?

Brands of External Flash for Nikon D60?
I recently purchased a used Nikon D60, and would like to supplement the weak on-board flash with an external, more powerful, flash. However, I've read that there are flashes less expensive than the Nikon brand that are just as good. What are they?

Can the Nikon SB600 flash be triggered with the built-in flash of Nikon D3000?
Nikon D3000 does not have a commander which is necessary, as per my understanding, only for multiple remote flash set up. But if I were to use only the SB600 remotely, will I need a radio controlled device or can it be triggered with the built-in flash?
