NIKON D3000 Help. Flash magically stopped working?

I went out last night and I went to go take photos, but my flash was not working. But the night before it was working just fine, I don't know what this can be from. I've had the camera since September, I don't know what can possibly be wrong. I tried all of the settings and NO flash comes on in any of them. I pressed the flash button on the side of the camera as well. Someone please help me before I go insane! ---

Added (1). It says my flash is on! :/

Did you check that the shutter ISN'T set to Burst mode? ( it keeps firing as long as you hold it down)
Also, what is the flash icon doing on the screen, does it show that the flash is enabled?
