Nikon 35mm f/.8 or 50mm f/1.8?
Ah I've asked this question several times, but I haven't really gotten answers that help. So please help. I like taking pictures of people, like portraits, but I won't go closer than shoulders. I'll most likely be taking half body shots, and full body shots. Also occasionally close up. I've heard the 35mm has a bit of distortion? Does that mean if I did a self portrait, it would be distorted? Also, for the 50mm you can't autofocus (nikon d3100)… Kind of a problem if I need fast shots, but then again I wanna get serious in photography so manual isn't bad either. What do you think?

Exposure settings keep changing even though on Manual mode (Nikon D80)?
I have Nikon D80 and I photograph in the manual mode. I set my exposure settings, but nevertheless, each shot that I take has different shutter speed, thus resulting with different exposure on each photo. The camera seems to be playing with light on it's own.
I'm sure there must be something in the settings that could fix it so the camera won't be adjusting itself to light on it's own. Any ideas on how I could fix it?

Which of these cameras do you suggest? - 2

Is the tamron 18-200 F/3.5-6.3 Di-II macro lens better than this?
I'm getting a nikon d90, and i wanted to know if this was better than the lens that comes in the kit:
http://www.bennettscamera.com/spec_sheet.html?catalog[name]=Nikon-D90-kit-(AF-S-DX-Nikkor-18-105mm-f/3.5-5.6G-ED-VR-lens)-nikon-d90&catalog[product_guids][0]=2b1a1722-a00b-4719-a08b-ee7203664a18
the tamron 18-200 F/3.5-6.3 Di-II macro of course is cheaper than that lens, but It has more zoom, plus it's a macro! I love it. But is it better in pricing with the one in the kit?
Added (1). Also, does it have VR?
i wanted to know if the tamron is better than the nikon lens… Sorry my question was confusing.

With a D60 is my only option the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S Lens?
I want to get a good prime lens for my D60 for portraits and low light shooting, and I'd love to be able to create some bokeh. However, I was hoping to spend under $200 (closer to $100 if possible). I noticed that I have to get an AF-S lens or it won't autofocus on the D60 (grr!).So the less expensive sigma lenses aren't an option for me, and I can't find a 50mm that is an AF-S. Is the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S my only option in my price range for a prime lens on a D60 if I want an autofocus option?

I'm looking at two different entry level DSLR's for my first DSLR camera.
I'm wondering how much difference there would be in image quality with a sensor size of 23.1 x 15.4 (Nikon D3100) versus 22.3 x 14.9 (Canon T1i)
I have a slight preference for the Canon, though am curious how much difference there would be with a slightly larger sensor in the Nikon?
Coming from a P&S I'm positive either one will be an upgrade, just curious with the sensor size, as I know with sensors bigger is usually better (or so I'm told)

I have a Nikon D90 with the kit 18-105 and a 35/f1.8. I'm looking to get another lens preferably a f2.8 zoom (I don't need extended zoom) that works well in low light. I would be using it for everyday photography and light portrait work (mostly candid). I was thinking about the Sigma 17-70 f2.8. Any recommendations/comments?
