So today I got the Nikon D3100, and Iove it! It came with an 18-55mm lens and it's pretty good. However, I really want to be able to have some bokeh in my pictures. I know that you need like an 1.8mm lens or something to achieve this properly, but is there anyway to make the DoF level really low without it? Please dumb things down, this is my first DSLR and I'm only 14:)
Thank you!
And if you have any suggestions for good Nikon lenses (at a good price), feel free to share!

Can I fit a Nikon D3100 on The red pod?
I wanted to buy the red pod for my nikon d3100 but i'm not sure if it will fit.
www.thepod.ca in case you don't know what i'm talking about.

Ok, so i'm new to studio lighting but am eager to get into portrait photography, i bought a couple strobe lights and i use a Nikon D5000, now i understand using the built in flash on my camera fires the strobe light to flash but does it have disadvatages using the pop up flash, would it be a good idea to buy a wireless trigger? Also i'm not 100% sure how they work, or am i gonna be fine just shooting with the camera flash. Any info on this subject would be great!

Can I leave my Nikon in my car without the cold weather damaging it?
So i just got a nikon d3100 for christmas and were going to my grandparents house in new hampshire where it is very very rugged and they have a cottage in the woods so I do not have to be worried about it getting stolen. But if i leave it in the car for about 3-6 hours do you think it could get damaged? It will be in thick case/camera bag but still is it ok? Also it is about 30 degrees F. Outside.

Why won't my nikon 50mm 1.8 autofocus?
I just got a new lens (nikon 50mm 1.8) and yes it is labeled as AF. But no matter what I do, my camera stays on MF. I have a nikon d3100. The tab that you can switch is down, where the two orange spots meet. This is the AF setting right? What am i doing wrong?

Why can't I use release/burst mode while in Lv (live view) on my Nikon D90?
I have a Nikon D90 with Tamron 18-200mm lens. The problem is that I can't use the release/burst mode while in live view… It only works when I take pictures while looking through the viewfinder. Why do you think that is and how can I fix it? Also, when I use live view I can't take pictures with it wanting to focus every single time… Shouldn't you be able to take pictures just by pressing the button and not have to wait for it to focus? I understand holding down the button half way to focus but if I want to take a picture without holding half way down first it won't let me.

Nikon D3000, D3100, and D5000?
For Christmas my family bought me a Nikon D3000, I asked for a D5000, but my mom got me the D3000 since it was cheaper. It looks like a good camera too, but my mom gave me the choice to return it tomorrow to get the money back and buy a D5000 with the rest of my Christmas money. Should I spend $200 more to upgrade to the D5000? Or keep the D3000? I'm looking for good quality pictures, I think both models have great quality, but the D5000 is better.
Another option I have, is the return the D3000, and get a D3100. Which camera would be a better choice? The D3100 or the D5000?
