Using a camera in liveview immediately slows it down and makes all your pictures blurry. You will have spent all that money and carry around this thing to have it work exactly the same as your point and shoot pocket camera.

Luckily the D50 does not have this feature.

Like any other slr or dslr, through the viewfinder.
Photographers have been composing their images through viewfinders for over 50 years.

Look on page 16 of your user manual to see how to hold your camera while composing and shooting photos

The D50 does not have live view. That did not start appearing in dSLR's until early 2007.

I have used it when attached on my telescope or when shooting products in the studio. Since live view uses a lot of battery power, using an AC adapter keeps shooting sessions much longer when using live view.

Remember though, once you get a camera with live view, the cameras sensor stays on for a long time and can overheat causing the camera to shut off, protecting the sensor. And that using live view to compose your shots will put the camera at arm's length, increasing the chances of blur, caused by camera movement.

You can't. It's a dslr camera for heaven sakes. Unless you're shooting movies (the d50 doesn't have that capability) or shooting some creepy stalker pics, why would you want to use the LCD screen?
