How to take a photo on Nikon d3000?

Hi, I'm borrowing this camera from my teacher for photography class. And we have to take a few photos for an assignment. How to you take a photo on this camera? I'm supposed to have it set on manual, raw, and I already have my memory card in. So how do you take a picture? What do you press? Once I turn it on it's only a menu screen… What do I press to make it so that I can take a picture? And no, I can't look at the user manual because All of it is in Spanish. (frusterating much?) Thank you. All answers are appreciated

Look through the viewfinder (making sure the camera is on) there should be a silver button that releases the shutter. Also, there's a setting dial which is near (i think round) the button and if you don't have it set to auto you'll be fine. Ask your teacher if you're still unsure

I guess your instructor handed you the wrong manual.
Here is a link to the Adobe Acrobat PDF file of the D3000

If you need a printable version, look here and supply the cameras serial number and you can print up the important pages you may need while out shooting

I believe you turn it on, point it, and press the shutter button. Voila.

Thanks
