I have a nikon D3100, and I love to take pictures of people. I was wondering if it was worth the investment in getting a speedlight, like the sb400, or not.
Also, I'm getting a flash diffuser either way. Do you have any diffusers you recommend?

I'm a beginner photographer (I'm a teenager so I do not have much experience-only about a year or so.) I own a Nikon D5000. I have never taken any classes but I would like to sometime. Everything I have learned is from looking up information on the internet about aperture, iso, shutter speed, etc. So I'm basically self-taught. I would love to get some general feedback of my photography. Be as harsh a you'd like, I want to improve! What am i doing right? What am I doing wrong? Am I good enough to have a business someday?

Is a Nikkor 35-105mm AF 3.5-4.5 compatible with a Nikon D7000?
I just bought a Nikon D7000 new from the supplier and haven't yet purchased a lens. I'm generally new to photography and I'm wondering if the Nikkor 35-105mm AF will be compatible with it, or if it will only work in certain modes (i.e.auto or manual focus, etc). My friend is willing to give me hers. She has a D90.
I would also like opinions as to what would be a good lens to purchase. I'm personally leaning towards the Nikkor AF-S VR 70-300mm. I would also like a fisheye lens, but there seems to be so many options and I'm a little overwhelmed!
As for photography needs, I photograph just about anything (it's just a hobby). My son playing in the yard, sports, and portraits alike. So I would like a few different lenses to choose from.

Yesterday it was working perfectly. Today I go to take some photos with it and my Nikon D70's dead. There's nothing on the LCD screen, the battery is brand new and 100% charged so I know its not that. Nothing happened to the camera (didn't get dropped, banged, ect.). Its just… Dead. What happened? Anyone have this happen to them? What can i do: (?
Added (1). No the battery isn't a dud. I've tried 3 different batterys all of which were fully charged.nothings working.lcds not showing anything.
