Which type of lighting is best for filming a movie with HDSLRs?
I'm looking into buying some new lighting equipment, and was wondering which type of lighting would be better for movies, mainly indoors, but also including some outdoor shots too; my choices are either tungsten or florescent. Which one would offer better all around performance, including coloration. I will be filming on a Canon 7D and a Canon 5D MkII most likely, and possibly a Nikon D3100 as a backup, if that makes any difference.

Can I take amazing portrait (Model) with Nikon D3100 with an 18-55mm lens?
I'm planning to buy the Nikon D3100 because of its price and I heard it takes amazing pics. However, I would like to know if a Nikon D3100 with its primary lens(18-55mm), whether I can take amazing portrait like for model with this lens? Or do I need another lens? I know other lens are expensive and if the 18-55mm is enough to get some portrait photos like these photos(provided in link below), I will be satisfied.
Here's the link:

Note: These photos are samples of what kind of portrait photos(model) am looking for. They are certainly not taken with a Nikon D3100(I guess)

Recommend a student going off to college a DSLR
I will be studying out of state. My parents promised to buy me a DSLR since last December! I'm not become a professional photographer for sure, But I would like a DSLR that would take nice photos. My girlfriend has a T1i. It shoots nice pictures!
I'm leaning for the Nikon D5000. But I wish I could've bought it earlier since it was on sale at Target. But anyways! I'm open to any suggestions and different companies.
I would go for the Pentax, but I don't want to use AA batteries:[

I need a fisheye lens for my D3100
Okay. I've searched and searched and searched. All I want Is a nice-quality fisheye lens OR adapter. I have a Nikon D3100.
I already know that Nikon has a NIKKOR 10.5 lens… But it's like $750. I want something under $500.
An adapter is fine but I want it to be nice quality and AF.
Please help me out. I'll give you points. (Whatever that means) lol.

My camera won't focus on manual, and won't take pictures on auto?
I have a nikon d40, when i set the switch on the Lens to auto focus, it will not even take pictures, and when it is on manuel the camera will not focus and the pictures are poor, i have tried to change the setting on the lcd screen under focus and i can, but the same thing keeps happening. Also, when its on auto focus, the flash comes on and it will take a picture if i press the "AE-L AF-L" button, but it will not focus!

Which nikon camera would be the best to get?
So i'm really interested in photography, but as of right now i just want cool pictures with my friends. So i've been looking at some nikon cameras and i'm not too sure which one to get. It would be really nice if i could get some good quality pictures out of it as well as maybe doing a few professional shots. Also some really good close ups for my art. So which one do you think would be best for me based on what you know? D5100, D90, D3100, D5000

I'm a 16 year-old sophomore in high school and have been getting interested in photography, is there any way I can get started? I already have a pretty good camera (Nikon D5000) and wanted to know if there was any way I could sell my pictures to some stock, the city, or other places. I will be posting a link to samples of my work later so you can judge my shots. Any idea helps, I just want the work and the art.

I'm using d90 nikon
i'm a beginner as well
i'm really confused

Nikon.NEF plug-in for photoshop CS4?
I have a Nikon D3100 an have recently been shooting in Raw. Unfortunately, the latest camera RAW update (for CS4) does not cover the. NEF format.
I was wondering if there were any plug-ins that allowed me to process my images in photoshop CS4?
Any suggestions on how to process the RAW images would be most welcome!
