For anyone who has a Nikon DSLR, have you had any problems with it?
I'm looking into the Nikon D3100 and wondering if I should purchase the warranty.
BQ: I'm buying this SLR with a 16GB Ultra SanDisk memory card, how many pictures can it hold? And what's the difference between Ultra and Extreme?

Right now I'm using a plain old point-and-shoot, and it seems this would be a good start in the world of DSLRs. What do you think? Is it a good idea to start at this level (low-end)? I can't spend much more than $500.

How to set up an external flash on Nikon D3100?
I have a d3100 and found an external flash at my friends house. Its a Bower SFDS. I mounted it right to the hot shoe but I can't seem to figure it out. I know the flash is on but there's no test button. I just need to figure out how to actually make it work with my D3100.
