AF-S Nikkor 55-200 mm 1.4-5.6 ED VR Lens on Nikon D-3100?
I have this lens, bought in October, 2008 that I used until recently on my Nikon D-60 and it ALWAYS autofocused with no problems at all. I recently bought the D3100 and while the kit 18-55 lens autofocuses perfectly, it will NOT autofocus the 55-200. The manual indicates that any AF-S lens should autofocus. Any ideas? Have there been 'upgrades' to the 55-200 in the last two years that would render my 'older' lens incompatible with the D3100? Wracking my brains here.

So it's pouring down with rain outside, I'm stuck at home today so I was cleaning out drawers and came across some plain white masks. You know the ones that in art class you had to put your design over the top of it? As well as ones that only cover the eyes.
I was considering taking some photographs today using them. I have a Nikon D40, with a 55-200mm Lens, which makes it a little more awkward to take some self portraits due to the fact my house is also pretty small.
But anyway, I was wondering if anyone could give me a good photographer who photographs like this? Or any of their own personal ideas?
I have started, and I'm using my own ideas. Its just nice to broaden your thoughts!

What's this antique camera worth?
I'm not sure if it's an antique. It's a Nikkormat FT3.It was only produced for a few months in 1977 (according to Wikipedia… Which I realize is not the most accurate source). My grandpa gave it to me today so I can sell it and get myself new lenses for my Nikon D3100.
How do I know what it's worth?

I have a Nikon D5000 with 18-55 and 55-200.and i need your help? - 1
I'm planning a trip to another country and i'm planning to take lots of pictures. I have a nikon d5000 and 2 lenses that came with it 18-55 and 55-200, honestly i'm sick of using them (probably because i don't know how to use them properly) What's a good lens for general use? Ill be taking alot of pictures of beaches, streets, building, and crowds of people in city. My budget is 100-300 bucks… 400 is pushing it. I was going to buy a 100 dollar lens (50mm 1.8) but appearently it doesn't AF with my camera. I'm no where close to a pro photography, not even amateur so any lessons of lenses are welcome. I bought these e-bay lenses for like 50 bucks hoping to satisfy my urge take wide lens pictures… But not very satisfying.

I bought a nikon d3100 and i find it doesn't have the best pics with the 18-55?
So i was wondering what would be the best lens to buy keeping in mind i take pics of kids, portraits, and family events. Is it ok if i get just prime lens with no auto zoom or is it much better with the zoom.

Advice on new lenses for Nikon D80 DSLR?
Hi, I currently have an Nikon 18-55 mm DX lens and 55-200 mm VR lens for my Nikon D80. Although, I'm generally happy with them, it is sometimes a pain to be exchanging the lenses all the time. Is there a light general purpose lens that could replace both? I say light b/c I did have the 18-200 VR lens and it was just too heavy for me. I mainly enjoy landscapes, although I also like macro work as well. Sounds like I'd still need two lenses for that. What would be a better pair to own for that kind of work on a budget of $1000 for both lenses?
